About Travis Smith
Travis Smith is an independent marketing consultant. He was the co-founder and former President of Lift Division, a Columbia based search marketing company, which he later sold to Pure, a marketing and communications agency.
Entrepreneur at heart, Travis left behind a ‘Dilbert Cube’ and his P.E. license in Civil Engineering to start an E-commerce business in 2002. He now has more than eight years and 15,000 + hours of experience marketing businesses online with SEO, PPC, and E-mail tactics for domains such as MidwayUSA.com and SoccerPro.com.
His work at SoccerPro.com lead to a beneficial acquisition for the company. After leaving SoccerPro, Travis co-founded Lift Division, a search marketing firm which he later sold to Pure. Travis teaches Search Engine Marketing at the prestigious University of Missouri School of Journalism. Additionally he is the author of “Lift: Discover How Your Local Business Will Grow With Google,” a marketing technology columnist for the Columbia Daily Tribune, and a subject matter expert at MO.com.

Personal
Travis Smith is passionate about many things, all of which are summed up in the statement: “design the life you want, and live it to your fullest potential”. He’s not fond of fences (physical or imaginary), and his skin crawls when the phrase “can’t be done” is uttered, even below audible volumes.
